22. Can you give us a lift back to the car?
22a. In the days before Chris started (aeons ago) he was sitting among friends at the cottage they used to socialise in in Chapel Green Warwickshire downing a few ciders. When George Whenham and Ken Brown staggered down off the newly constructed M6 motorway embankment (before it was in use, yes aeons I said) They had a plea, ‘Can you take us back to our car?’ On questioning they had left it some 2 miles down the road towards Fillongley, and run all the way up to the woods up on Meridan Hill 3 miles in the opposite direction. It was foot sore and desperation that had led them to be ridiculed by their partly drunken friends at the Cottage. It was after this that Chris took some pity on George and joined his team for a few years to help. Jenny , George's wife later pointed out that they could have driven the car to within 200 yards of the site, and they had parked the car on the same road that passed directly by the site....
